The present participle is used to form the verbs of the progressive aspect. This verb aspect emphasizes the continuation of an action, whether it occurs in the past, present or future. Here are some examples of the present participle when used in this way:
In addition to its use as a verb, the present participle is often used as a noun. This form of the participle is called a gerund(gerundio), and it can appear as a subject, object, or gerund phrase in a sentence. The following examples show these three uses:

If you notice, the change that has occurred between the direct and the indirect question is in the order of the elements. While in the direct question we had the inversion between verb to be and subject, as we have said in the rule (Question word + to be + subjet? ), in the indirect question, there is no inversion, but we have question word + subject + verb. If you notice, we have the inversion in ‘Can you tell me…’. As we already have an inversion at the beginning of the question, we cannot make another inversion. Remember: only one inversion per sentence!

The use and form of the present subjunctive. The subjunctive is used to express desires, requests, preferences, and needs. The conjugation of regular verbs always ends in -e / -es / -e / -emos / -éis / -en, for the conjugation of verbs ending in -ar. Look at these sentences:
The first sentence shows the correct use of the subjunctive, and the second is incorrect (as indicated by the little star before the sentence). Although the speaker knows his wish for the other person at the moment (Quiero que), he cannot be sure if the other person will realize it, and therefore, he expresses a wish for the other person using the subjunctive (ella hablar más en clase).
The indirect pronoun. The indirect pronoun is placed before the direct pronoun in the sentence. For example, in the sentence Te lo digo, the word te lo represents te te, or the indirect pronoun, and the direct pronoun represents it.
Prepositions at the end of English sentences. The prescriptive rule states that you do not end sentences with prepositions, for example with, to, around, and this rule comes from Latin where the preposition has to precede the object it refers to but this does not always happen in conversation. The Psalm is arranged in an acrostic pattern. There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet, and this Psalm contains 22 units of 8 verses each. Each of these 22 sections is given to a letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and each line in that section begins with that letter. The closest parallel to this pattern in Scripture is found in Lamentations 3, which is also divided into 22 sections, and there are a few other passages in Hebrew Scripture which use a pattern of acronyms.
Since this Psalm glorifies God and His Word, it mentions Scripture over and over again. The Psalm is remarkable in that it often speaks of God’s written revelation, His word. It is mentioned in almost every verse. The Masoretes said that God’s Word is mentioned in every verse except Psalm 119:122. Other people count differently (with disagreements about verses 84, 90, 121, and 132). But Scripture is mentioned in at least 171 of the 176 verses.
